How to Write Content to Boost Your Business SEO Strategy

Content is a very important part of SEO.

And the opposite is true as well. Without one, the other simply won’t thrive.

Before we jump into how to write content to boost your SEO strategy, however, let’s first define content and SEO.

What is Content?

Simply put, content means a piece of information that is available electronically. This could be an article, an infographic, a video, or another piece of content. Content can take many forms, and it should always add value to your followers.

What is SEO?

what is seo

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website and blog through organic search engine results.

Organic traffic is often the highest quality traffic because it involves traffic from individuals who are specifically seeking out the info you have on your website.

Thus, visits from organic search are likely to be more valuable in helping you reach your goals.

Now that you are familiar with the concepts of content and SEO, I want to give you an example of how mixing the two together can give a serious boost to your blog.

How content and SEO can boost your business (a real-life example)

I want to tell you about my friend, who is an affiliate marketer. He is doing affiliate marketing through his blog. Last year he developed and executed an SEO strategy, and he made some changes in the content on his website.

By making some minor changes to the content on his site, the organic traffic coming to his website skyrocketed. And, as a result, he increased his earnings from affiliate marketing through higher, more interested traffic.

Now my friend earns $20k per month. I’ll say that again…

My friend earns $20k per month…from affiliate marketing…simply because he chose to execute a new SEO strategy revolving around content.

If he can earn a lot of money by developing quality content and following an SEO strategy, then you can also earn like that by following the same process.

But how (and where) do you start?

How to get started with content and SEO

If you have no idea, it’s ok.

Don’t worry, because today I am going to tell you how to write content to boost your business’s SEO strategy. Remember and pay attention to my words; these strategies are proven, so don’t neglect it; otherwise, you will find it very challenging to achieve success with your online business.

Before I get started, I want to ask a simple question.

Have you started your blog for your online business?

If you think that your business is small and you don’t require a blog, think again.  Your small business can rise to a high level with the right blogging strategy in place.

It does not matter how small or what type of business is; if you are doing online business, you should start blogging now.

Blogging can help you build trust and gain clout within your industry by providing valuable information in your blog posts. You can establish your business as an industry leader.

One of the biggest benefits of doing business through a blog is that you can provide value for your readers. This means that whatever you post on your blog, those posts will help your visitors solve their problems and make their life easier or better. This leads to loyalty to your brand and growth for your website.

Sharing, of course, is one of the biggest opportunities. Sharing helps your content reach more eyes (aka readers), and each of those new readers could potentially turn into revenue.

Every time you blog, you create an opportunity for your audience to share your blog with other people.

There are also many more benefits of doing business through your blog. So if you have not created your blog, create it now in just a few minutes.

If you want a proper step-by-step guide and want to know everything about the blog, stop over and take a look at my guide on how to start writing a blog. It can help you create and launch your blog in just a few minutes.

While creating your blog, the first step is to choose the best web hosting provider and a memorable domain name, which is also called a website name.

For example, Moneytric.com. If your blog’s name is easy to spell and memorable, then many people will remember it.

After creating a blog, that’s when the fun begins with creating amazing content that keeps readers coming back for more.

Write SEO-friendly content that thoroughly answers questions and engages your readers. This can give you a strong show at ranking high in search results, and get more organic traffic. SEO-friendly content helps to boost your business.

Before starting to write SEO-friendly content, however, there are a few things you need to know. Let’s first take a look at LSI keywords.

What are LSI keywords?

LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing. LSI keywords are words and phrases that are semantically related to your focus keyword

For example, suppose your main keyword is “cycling” and you are searching LSI keywords of your main keyword. You will get words and phrases like “benefits of cycling”,

“Cycling tips”,

“benefits of the lower body by cycling”, etc.

In a simple way, LSI keywords are words and that are relevant to your main keyword.

For writing SEO-friendly content you have to use LSI keywords in your content but use them without hurting readability. LSI keywords are very helpful for SEO, and can really boost your rankings and improve search relevance.

To find LSI keywords for use in content, there are many tools, such as LSI Graph, SEMrush, and others that can give you a leg up.

Now that you understand the basics, let’s take a glance at the 7 steps you need to follow to write content to boost your SEO strategy.

Content strategy to boost your SEO: 7-Step Process

content boost seo

To really benefit from content and boost your SEO, you need to follow these 7 steps.

  1. Write your Content for your audience.
  2. Make your headlines very attractive.
  3. Use subheadings.
  4. Structure your posts.
  5. Use images and videos.
  6. Promote your Content on various social media platforms.
  7. Update your blog.

Let’s look at each one in a bit more detail.

1. Write your content for your audience.

This is the number one tip that you should follow for writing the best content. Understand your audience and create content that THEY want. Avoid creating content just on a hunch that you THINK they will want.

If you want to make your content awesome, you need to be strategic and write everything in a way that’s relevant to your target audience. Take some time to get to know them through surveys and other methods to truly understand what they want to see.

2. Make your headlines very attractive.

You have a very short amount of words to impress your readers. So, write your headlines very attractively, and don’t underestimate the power of attractive headlines.

Write headlines that are attractive, clear, and interesting, and make use of rich keywords.

Use relevant, keyword-rich phrases in your headlines.

Your headlines play an important role in the success of your content. A headline is very important, and it grabs the attention of your readers. Many people will completely pass on your content if the headline doesn’t instantly pull them in.

Many people make the decision to read content by reading headlines only. So, try to attract your readers through your headlines. Think of your headlines as a first impression. Make sure you make a good one.

The more people you attract, the more profit you will get through your business.

3. Use subheadings

A subheading is a text placed under a headline. It also works similarly to the headline.

It also grabs the attention of your readers. In fact, the words “Use subheadings” just above this section are an example of a subheading. It should describe the related section of the article.

Here’s a trick I always try to follow that I find works very well.

Subheadings also use LSI keywords; it works very well.

Suppose if your subheading is:

“content writing tips,” and you have found one LSI keyword – “content writing tips and tricks” In this case, it is better to write LSI keywords because it can help you rank for both keywords “content writing tips” and “content writing tips and tricks”.

4. Structure your posts.

Write everything in paragraphs. Everyone uses paragraphs but not in a proper way. don’t start each new sentence on a new line.

Breaking your content up into smaller paragraphs with headlines makes it very easy for your readers to read your content, and small paragraphs will keep your readers engaged.

For any truly good content writer, their paragraphs have their ideas and subjects clearly defined and are nice and concise, using only the amount of space necessary to convey the message.

Your paragraph should be a maximum of 4 to 5 lines to keep visitors flowing through the article.

5. Use images and videos.

Make your posts awesome by adding images and videos.

Visual elements are very important for making SEO-friendly content. If you are doing online business, you should use images and videos to make your content look awesome.

As human beings, our brain prefers visual elements. The colors attract human beings. We human beings love to see colors and objects because aesthetics trigger emotional responses in our brains.

Adding images and videos, along with your high-quality content, can make a big impression.

If your blog looks very beautiful and awesome, then it gets more traffic.

6. Promote your content on various social media platforms.

Promoting content on social media is the best way to generate traffic to your blog and grow your business online.

Promote it on Pinterest, which is one of the best sources of traffic, Twitter which is the most useful platform for increasing traffic, and Facebook which is one of the biggest social media platforms.

Facebook has 2.7 billion monthly active users. Facebook is one of the biggest and most popular social media platforms. And Twitter has 330 million monthly active users, and 145 million are daily users.

These are all great channels, but the key is for you to look to develop an understanding of your audience including which channels they prefer, and then focus on those.

Long story short, you should share your content on various social media platforms to boost your business’s SEO strategy.

Regularly share your Content on social media platforms to drive more traffic to your blog and generate leads.

7. Update your blog.

While researching, I found that the more you update your blog, the more traffic it will receive. Google gives higher priority to updated blogs with fresh SEO-friendly content.

So, at least twice per week (4+ is better if you have the resources), update your blog with new, dynamic content to get more attention and traffic from the search engines.

Conclusion

After going through all these content tips, you may think that boosting your business’s SEO strategy is easy.

  1. This is so true Ranvijay because I experienced it on my blog. Today, I re-published a post I had updated for the past 3 days, editing, adding content and resources. But the post already ranked on page 1, position 1 of Google for a long tail keyword with zero SEO optimizing. Good, hearty content can rank even if you ignore some or all SEO details for low competition keywords. I optimized it for SEO; we will see how it does now for search and also, organically through social media shares.
