Every e-commerce store owner wishes to get qualified leads that can turn into sales and profit. Not many succeed in doing so, however.
The problem is not with their ambition or their plan, but with the execution. Internet marketing is changing, and e-commerce strategies that worked previously are no longer seeing the same levels of success.
The solution to this problem is to Experiment, Experiment, and EXPERIMENT!
Fortunately, there are a number of strategies that work again and again that you can begin to experiment with.
Let’s dig into some of the best strategies that can help drive qualified leads and tons of traffic for store owners.
- Listicle Blogs
The most obvious way to get more sales online is by targeting people when they are searching for products on search engines.
Listicles help target user buying intent and play well with search engines.
Websites like Walmart, Amazon, and other giants always publish listicle blogs and landing pages that provide tons of value to visitors, and they tend to drive solid rankings.
Obviously these are major, well-recognized brands, but even new e-commerce store owners can create buzz through listicle articles.
- Long-tail keywords in blogs
More and more searches are performed via mobile devices, resulting in more semantic searches. To account for this, you need to consider long-tail keywords.
Craft your content to account more for people rather than just for crawlers. By incorporating long-tail keywords into your product descriptions and other content, you can drive tons of organic traffic to your site to more exact searches and capture more mobile searches.
- Create Lead Magnets
Creating more lead magnets can be a great way to bring people back to your store if they have left it. For example, if you are selling general items like toys, electronics and other items that people would purchase during the holidays, creating something like a Christmas guidebook would be a great lead magnet that can grab email addresses and move people into your communication flow.
Simply create and ebook and with a nicely designed cover to entice more downloads.
Offer ideas for Christmas shopping, decor, and other elements of the holiday and add some value for those who download the piece. As they download the content, they move into your email communication, through which you can target deals and discounts during the holiday season and throughout the year.
You can do this same thing with holidays, seasons, themes and more.
- Make use of Social Media Videos
One of the best ways to improve your traffic through social media is to provide video content to your users.
Facebook algorithms love video content. This helps your content reach more people and grab higher numbers of views and impressions.
Other channels, like Instagram, love video as well. Consider the example of BN3TH on Instagram. It offers engaging video content to its users. This keeps them hooked to the brand, building trust and credibility, and encouraging social shares.
Each share spreads word of the brand, leading, ultimately, to increased website traffic and sales.
- Start Discount Offers & Giveaways
Another great way to improve traffic and qualified leads to your e-commerce store is to offer discounts on products and combine them with a giveaway.
So, for example, if you want people to buy your products and not just enter the giveaway, offer a discount on the product as well. When people buy that product, they are automatically entered in a grand giveaway!
Let’s say you have a product for $20, and with a discount, it is available for $15. You tell people that if they buy the product, they will be entered in a giveaway to win $200 worth of products FREE from your store.
This will not only spread the word about your brand but also increase your sales volume.
- Create Content that Appeals to Influencers
Content that appeals to the influencers should be your priority.
Think about what influencers are searching for and how can you provide that content to them. Visit Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, Twitter, and search for your key term.
Then look to approach the right influencers about promoting your products.
Perhaps, ask these influencers if they would be interested in trying your products? If you reach out to 20, at least one or two will be interested in trying your products. That’s a win!
You may need to pay certain influencers, but some will help promote your product simply because they tried it and truly like it (and because you might offer them some free versions of your products, of course).
- Retarget with Facebook Ads
Facebook retargeting is one of the best ways to bring in traffic. Not only is this traffic lower in cost, but it also helps convert.
So, first of all, you will need to have Facebook Pixel on your website. The pixel will keep track of all the people who are coming to your website.
Once you have that set up, you need to run an ad on social media and create a list of those people.
Then create a lookalike campaign for these people. Where 1000 people visited your website, the lookalike will provide you with a list of 10,000 people who have similar interests.
These will cost less because Facebook will not have to search for matches.
In simple terms, Facebook won’t have to do much work except showing your ads to similar users.
- Cash back or Referral Offers Work Wonders
Let’s say you start offering 10% cash back on shopping for more than $100.
Now, anyone buying products above $90 would likely want to buy products above $100 so that they can get a $10 cash back, right? That’s how you increase your order volume.
Another great tactic is referral marketing. You can give another offer to the customers by saying that if they refer someone through the unique referral code, they are going to get $5 in their account.
Now, who doesn’t want to earn a free $5 credit they can use toward a future purchase?
That’s what Amazon does with Amazon Affiliates! People have turned Amazon affiliates into a proper business by referring to others. But the end result is Amazon getting more sales, and that is what made Jeff Bezos the richest man in the world!
Bottom line: Experiment and win big!
In the end, it is all about experimenting with new strategies that can help you get the most from your brand.
The best way to go about it is to work on new ideas that can attract people and keep them coming back again and again.
Don’t just focus on traffic or attraction because these are vanity metrics. Instead, focus on impacting your bottom-line.
