How Handwritten Cards Can Differentiate Your Business From the Competition

In today’s digital world, it can be difficult for your business to stand out from the crowd.

Think about all of the emails, social media messages, text messages, and other digital communications you receive from businesses each day.

On average, people receive more than 120 emails per day. How can your brand compete with that and hope to stand out?

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Consider the number of social media posts you see each day as you scroll through your feeds.

We’re in a state of digital overload, and it’s critical that you find ways to make your brand stand out from the crowd.

One way to do that involves stepping out of the digital realm.

The Value of Sending Handwritten Cards

Think about your biggest client. You want to keep them happy and let them know you care, right?

But, sending a ‘thank you’ email may not have the impact you think it does.

Think about it.

Your email may get lost in the recipient’s overcrowded inbox.

And even if your email does make its way through, your effort may come across as fake. People may wonder if the email was just copied and pasted, or worse, even automated.

Nothing says, “I don’t care,” more than a mass, copy and paste ‘thank you’ to all of your clients.

What happens, however, when you take that same message and send handwritten cards instead of emails?

You Stand Out

With a handwritten card, you aren’t competing with the massive pileup of emails. You may find that your card ends up beside bills and other letters, but it’s much less crowded.

While your clients receive hundreds of emails each week, I’ll wager they could count on one hand the number of handwritten cards they receive within the same timeframe.

You Show You Care

By taking the time to actually write out a card, you show your clients that you value them by actually grabbing a pen and a card and jotting down a unique message.

It takes a lot more effort to fill out your message on a handwritten card than it does to paste some copy into your email automation software and click “send”.

Final Thoughts on Handwritten Notes for Business

It’s so hard to find ways to make your business stand out these days. We’re often burned out by the level of communication we receive from brands, colleagues, friends, and family.

While email marketing is still a wonderfully effective way to drive business, you need to think outside the box to really stand out.

That’s where handwritten cards come into play.

Your clients want to know you care about them. They want to work with brands that get them and go the extra mile to be different.

If you really want to stand out, it’s time to start mixing in some traditional marketing to compliment your digital marketing.

Handwritten cards are just the thing your brand needs to differentiate and drive new business.
