Content is king, and blog articles are still among the top engaging content on the internet. The best part is that blogs are digital and can be read online.

In this digitized world, everyone can access blogs and articles through smartphones and multiple other types of devices.

There is a high charm in starting your own blogging network, but wait, what is it? Let’s discover.

What Is A Blogging Network?

A blogging network is a group of blogging websites run by a single person or a company. These websites can be of different niches or the same/similar niche and can be set to target different audiences of different regions and countries.

Importance Of Blogging Network In Regards To SEO

In SEO, there is a term commonly known as Private Blogging Network (PBN), which refers to a blogging network built purposefully to improve the SEO rankings of any particular website.

For instance, you have a group of more than 50 websites. You can link back each website to one another through blog posts to improve the authority of your sites. However, many experts say that this method does not work anymore.

Fortunately, that’s not where the value of a blogging network ends. There are many more benefits of having a blogging network. Today, we will discuss how you can set up your own blog network.

Starting Your Own Blogging Network

Starting a blogging network means setting up multiple websites for blogging purposes. It involves multiple methods. Let’s quickly look at a simple approach with which you can start your own blogging network to earn some money.

  1. Choose The Correct Blogging Platform

There are so many blogging platforms available all around. Each of them offers basic blogging facilities and features. The primary difference is the UX/UI and the uploading options.

Based on your needs and requirements, you can opt for a suitable platform for blogging. Some of the most common blogging platforms are:

  • WordPress.org
  • Gator by HostGator
  • Web.com
  • Wix
  • HubSpot CMS
  • WordPress.com
  • Blogger
  • Tumblr

Among all of these, WordPress.org is the most used blogging platform around the world. It captures around 61 percent of the market share, with 14.7 percent of the top websites using WordPress.org.

Moreover, almost 500+ sites are launched on this platform daily. It provides you with the features described in the image below.

  1. Pick A Suitable Hosting Platform

The next step is to decide which hosting plan is best for you. There are so many hosting providers around the globe. For a blogging network, you should look for the following features.

Disk Space

Make sure that the hosting provides enough disk space with which you can host several websites.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth plays a crucial role in the faster loading of the website. It will impact your user experience, and you should never compromise.

Security

Ensure the hosting provider has security features like SSL certificates, Firewall management, and automated malware scans.

Uptime

Double-check for the uptime, and it should be almost 100.

Server Response Time

Server response time must be minimized so that your website can load in 3 to 4 seconds.’

Pre Installed Apps

So many web hosting providers offer easy management with pre-installed apps. It can make things easier for you. For instance, Bluehost offers easy-to-manage pre-installed Cpanel.

Backups

Make sure that your web hosting provides you with a backup. Typically web hosting companies offer backups at a specific price. Previously, I had to ask Namecheap for a backup, which cost me around $20.

Customer Support

The most important feature you should look for is the hosting company’s customer support. What if your site is down, and you cannot connect to the company to check the issue?

I’ve personally faced issues with Namecheap. They are weak at their customer support.

I prefer AWS (Amazon Web Services) as their uptime is excellent, and the website loads even faster, improving your SEO results.

  1. Select Multiple Niches

Competition is very high in all fields; the same goes for the blogging industry.

According to TechJury and WebTribunal, there are about 600 million blog sites out of 1.9 billion total websites online. Furthermore, almost 6 million blog posts are created on a daily basis, making it up to 2.5 billion annually.

There are so many general category websites that post content related to all the fields. I recommend you select multiple niches for your different websites.

For instance, if you plan to launch six digital marketing websites, you can categorize each website against SEO, Content Marketing, Social Media, Paid Marketing, Influencer Marketing, or Email Marketing.

Selecting a specific niche for your websites would be great and will help you create in-depth content and rank better.

  1. Finalize The Domain Names For Your Blogging Network

Once you have decided upon your niches, you can finally look for domain name suggestions.

Make sure the name is relevant to your selected niche and easy to understand. Keep in mind your target audience while choosing the name and keep it engaging to them.

Moreover, it is necessary that your domain name is read easily and users can spell it with ease.

Furthermore, if you are planning to launch it as a brand name, you should also think that way. Lastly, keep it as short as possible so people can remember your blog name.

  1. Setup And Design Your Blogs

The next step is to select a suitable theme for your blog. It should be based on your niche. For example, a light-colored theme could work better for a health blog. While selecting the theme, you should think from a user’s point of view.

If you have selected Word Press as a platform, you can go on to design your website on your own after selecting a suitable theme. All you need is a simple Word Press editor like Elementor or Guttenburg.

  1. Plan Your Editorial Calendar

A content calendar is essential for each website. You will be making a separate content calendar for each of your websites.

It helps you plan for specific dates and ideas to publish. Furthermore, it will be easier for you to connect and follow up with the writers regarding the content. Here are some tips from Assignment Assistance, a dissertation writing services company, to create a content calendar.

  • Select your specific goals. For instance, you will only provide industry knowledge and spread information, or you will be reviewing some products and pitching your audience some services.
  • Prioritize your content types, as there are so many types of content, including how-tos, articles, listicles, case studies, interviews, infographics, product guides, etc.
  • For instance, if you plan a fashion blog, divide your topic ideas into categories like Clothing, Watches, Facial Beauty, Hairstyling, Footwear, etc.
  • Now divide your calendar based on your topic ideas and post types so that you may not end up posting similar ones in the same period of time.
  • Focus on the important dates with reference to your blog niche and plan suitable content.
  • Check for the publishing frequency. I would recommend you keep it to 2 to 3 posts per week.

This way, you can create a calendar for an entire year.

  1. Hire Writers Initially

You can not write on all the blogs. To keep up with your readers’ demand for content, you will have to look for some writers.

You can look for reasonable writers through multiple platforms. Social media, especially Facebook and LinkedIn, could help you get in touch with some reasonable writers from every industry. Upwork, and even Fiverr are other options.

You will need some good content initially to build a reputation and an authority score. If you plan to earn from your blogs, focus on getting traffic and improving SEO stats like DR and DA.

  1. Get Free Content For Your Blogs

You may also find some writers for free if you are open to providing them with an author account.

You can limit them to posting five articles per month. For instance, you provide two writers with an author account on one website. Limit them to five posts monthly, and you can achieve your editorial goals.

This way, writers can have a platform to gain recognition, and you will have your content. Furthermore, with improved SEO stats and better traffic, you will be able to attract good writers to write for free in exchange for one do-follow link to their client’s website through a post.

How You Can Earn From A Blogging Network

Once you can build your website’s authority and improve your DR and DA to above 40, you can earn up to $10 to $50 or more (I’ve seen websites charge $500+) per post on your blogging website. Furthermore, you can enable Google Ads and earn through them as well.

I wish you the best of luck with your blogging network, and I hope this post will help you set up a fantastic one.

  1. Hi Claudia, I like the idea of working as a team, something I’ve thought about over the years on and off. However, with that said I tried it once on Medium with a bunch of writers and it fizzled out. Maybe it was the platform. It sure would save some time ranking higher!
